Review:
Made from squishy, squeezy, extra-plush leather, the Loewe Squeeze bag is a slouchy yet sophisticated interpretation of the trending hobo silhouette. Part of the brand’s Fall 2023 collection, the bag quickly claimed it-girl status during New York Fashion Week. The squeeze sells out quickly, and, upon restock, has so far initiated at least one price increase.

Reflecting its laid-back, cool design, the branding is a minimal gilded LOEWE wordmark logo at the bottom of the front panel. The luscious squeeze handle functions as a chic and subtle buttery leather stress-ball, while the streamlined interior is unlined and includes a single zipped side pocket. The mouth is wide enough to dig through the roomy inside, and closes with a sumptuous, ruched pleating and magnetic closure.
The unfussy hobo shape offers an easy to wear, functional piece that can transform from shoulder bag to crossbody to top handle. Though the bag comes with a delightfully chunky donut chain extender, punctuated with a glossy Anagram pebble, the link mechanism is not as intuitive and functional as a convertible chain strap should be.
With the departure of Jonathan Anderson from Loewe earlier this year, we expect the squeeze bag to remain an archive piece for years to come.
