Review:
Buttery-soft leather fashioned into a voluptuous, pleated dumpling, Loewe’s Paseo bag is the latest treasure from the house’s trove of adornments. Released with Loewe’s spring/summer 2023 presentation, the Paseo stands out with its sensual, labial shape reminiscent of the collection’s iconic Anthurium flower.
This gem is a delight to wear. Her versatility allows her to pivot from being the centerpiece of the ensemble, to serving as the consummate complement. She brings a combination of whimsy and sultriness, elevating even the most basic look. The Clay Green color is neutral enough for everyday wear and seamlessly transitions through all seasons.
Loewe, of course, known for its innovative designs and expert craftmanship, has produced another stunning addition to the brand’s portfolio. The calfskin leather is plush with a slight shiny finish. The inside has a luxurious suede lining with a stamped leather base that provides a bit of structure. Loewe smartly allows the elegant design to stand out, simply furnishing the Paseo with gold hardware and an embossed logo.
The bag is roomy, though for some (like me!) the exaggerated east-west orientation may take time to adjust to. I often find myself digging into the far corners of the bag to find my lip balm or keys. The Paseo comfortably fits a cell phone, keys, card wallet, lip gloss, sunglasses case, and hand sanitizer.
