Born: 1993, Baton Rouge, LA

After a 5-year hiatus, Rogers will celebrate a triumphant return to New York Fashion Week by closing out Day 1 on February 6th. The hotly anticipated show is sure to satiate onlookers and observers in need of inspiration amid volatile and uncertain political, cultural, and fashion landscapes.

Each piece from Rogers is both a production and piece of art. Rogers deftly fuses his childhood inspirations of anime and the artistic productions of French post-impressionist painter Paul Gaugin, known for his experimental use of color. Rogers’ childhood consisted of creating costumes for comic book characters and draping garbage bags and scraps of fabric onto a form. This formation served as the first training ground for the noteworthy craftsmanship and next-level execution that would be further honed working for Rosie Assoulin and Tanya Taylor.

Raised in Baton Rouge and trained at the Savannah College of Art and Design, the South serves as a constant muse in each collection, with pieces seemingly ready to navigate romantic scenes set amidst Spanish moss, weeping willows, and peaceful ponds.

Rogers' designs capture the full range of his clientele's personality: confident, playful, and whimsical, while also bold, free-spirited, and impossible to ignore. He expertly gathers origami-inspired folds of fabric into striking, voluminous silhouettes, using rich, vibrant colors and patterns that demand wearers to take up space.

Since Rogers exploded onto the fashion scene in 2017, he’s been the recipient of numerous awards including the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund’s top prize, the American Emerging Designer of the Year at the 2020 CFDA Fashion Awards, and in 2021, he became a finalist for the LVMH Prize. Not bad for a Forbes 30 Under 30 listee.

With recent collaborations with Target and J. Crew, Christopher John Rogers remains committed to ensuring his phenomenal designs are accessible and available at every price point.
